Summary

Carbon is a key component of nature’s thermostat. It has control over the planets temperature, and any slight change, could result in a cooling or heating of the temperature. It ultimately dictates what type of life can live on a part of the planet. Carbon is a necessity of life. Unfortunately not all carbon is natural and good for the environment. Though it is a natural effect that is going to occur, humans have a great impact. Humans clear forests of trees that absorb the CO2. Also by burning fossil fuels from wood, we emit and allow more CO2 into the environment. Having CO2 recycled is not all bad though it natural gets recycled also. It is released back into the atmosphere through cell respiration of plants and animals, or aerobic respiration, decaying of organic materials by action of decomposers, the burning of fossil fuels, wood, coal usually by humans, volcanic eruptions, and the release of CO2 by warmer ocean waters. Carbon is also removed from the troposphere by terrestrial and aquatic producers, which use photosynthesis to convert it into things like glucose. But, the most important part of the carbon cycle is the linkage between photosynthesis and aerobic respiration in producers, consumers, and decomposers, which circulate carbon in the biosphere world wide. Everything everywhere uses carbon in some way weather it be by animals making shells or skeletons, or plants getting food, carbon is essential for life to continue on.
